Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Enterprise Alliance Systems, Inc. ("EASI") ("we", "us") collects when you use NotePaint (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what we need to run your account and store your notes, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, that provider shares your name, email address and a unique account identifier with us. We don't receive your password.
• Your content. The notes, text, screenshots, images, handwriting, drawings, folders, tags and settings you create, including handwriting samples you save to improve recognition.
• Technical information. Like most websites, our servers record basic request data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, times and errors, to keep the Service running and secure.
• Cookies and local storage. We use a cookie to keep you signed in and short-lived cookies to complete sign-in securely. Your browser also stores a few preferences on your device (such as your last library filter). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't use third-party analytics.

Screen capture happens in your browser, only when you start it, and only what you choose to save is sent to us.

2. How we use information

• to provide the Service: sign you in, store and show your notes, search them, and render images;
• to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems;
• to communicate with you about your account, security, and changes to the Service or these policies;
• to comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We don't look at your notes except when needed to provide support you ask for, to investigate abuse or a security issue, or when required by law.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:

• with service providers that run the Service for us under obligations to protect it, such as Microsoft Azure (hosting, database and file storage) and Google and Microsoft (sign-in);
• for legal reasons, when we believe in good faith it's required by law or legal process, or needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public, or us;
• in a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information;
• with your consent or at your direction.

4. Where your information is stored

Your information is stored in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account information and content while your account is active. When you delete content, or we delete your account at your request, it is removed from the Service and from our backups within the normal backup cycle (typically within 35 days), unless we must keep something longer to comply with law, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse. Server logs are kept for a limited period.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. No service is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Please don't store sensitive information in NotePaint (see section 5 of the Terms).

7. Your choices and rights

You can view, change and delete your notes in the Service at any time. To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account, email support@easiintl.com. Depending on where you live (for example California, or the European Economic Area and United Kingdom), you may have additional rights, such as to know, access, correct, delete or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We will respond as required by applicable law and won't discriminate against you for using these rights. Where the GDPR applies, we process information to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), for our legitimate interests (security and improving the Service), and to comply with law, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

NotePaint is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change is material, we will ask you to review it the next time you use the Service. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
